Special 130 to carry his coffin Philip helped design modified Land Rover which will carry his coffin | Evening Standard
It is very sad he has passed now, the Queen must be absolutly devastated. And all the hatred is shocking (especially the sexist comments about him but he took a back seat to his lady for a very long time, in a time where men normally in charge, so how anyone can ever say he was those thigns is beyond me) He was a big regal goofball. Love how he made his lady laugh always LOL. I think her Majesty must be complletely heartbroken
I always liked Prince Philip and I'm glad he had a few years of retirement, I suspect the haters are just jealous and they don't even realise what they are jealous of. I heard he'd performed over 22 000 solo official engagements, which means full working days, even stretching out past office hours into dinners at night.

1999 D2 TD5 Gone
Both the Queen and Prince Philip had stepped back from a lot of official duties over the last decade. These roles had then been passed on to various people in the next generation. Suppose this gives a sort of hand over period so they can become comfortable with what is required while having the years of experience to fall back on if required. Would not expect the Queen to abdicate just do less public duties
Until the current monarch it was normal for the King to be shall we say aged when being crowned and to only reign 10 or 20 years. The young person is only due to the circumstances the Queen came to the throne. It was not so long ago the media wanted her to abdicate so the next generation could take over. Now they want that generation to be by passed so the current young generation can take over
