By all reports the new outlander sucks to drive. The CVT isnt intuitive in the way it responds and feels sluggish

I wonder if the very new one will be any better, not sure if it'll come out this year or next.

I have a friend with an older one who hasnt had any issue as far as i know, and another who has had a couple of grand cherokees and loves them but we've all heard the horror stories.

Anyway im not neceasarily recommending it but it is an option.
Oops, my bad - that should have been in the ‘I wouldn’t be caught dead in one’ column...

Yeah, main problem is they are running up to my max dollars for a fairly base spec model. Not out of contention though (Outlander is though). Which car?

Already off my list due to them being horrible inside.

Seriously though I rate these things they seem to take a beating really well. Just look at all the ones that have survived the red and greens

Don’t worry, I actually thought about one for a few seconds, but doesn’t quite meet the brief and falls with the Palasade, Land Cruiser, etc as being too big. The Sante Fe and Sorento were pushing it size wise too and they are a step down from the Y62 size wise.

Some of them aren't too bad inside but not my cup of tea either. I find a lot of these drive better if you use them in semi auto as well. They still cruise on cruise control and you don't get that weird jump down 2 gears and Rev the hell out the engine thing they do when they don't allow for inclines

LionelG recently got one as a tow tug and I was led to believe it was (based on a Merc) diesel. IIRC he is not overly impressed with it ( the motor). Might be worth some homework.
