If you want to do some checking before the help arrives ...

You do not need to upgrade your antenna for digital. In fact, digital will pull in a picture on a weaker signal than analogue.

You can check the antenna system by plugging your old TV back in. If you get a good picture then the antenna system should be OK. If not, you've wired something up wrong with your new splitter etc.

If you are getting a picture with your old TV plugged in, then there is something wrong with cabling up from the STB to the TV. If you push the 'menu' button on the STB remote and can see the menu on your TV screen then you should be cabled up OK.

You're just seeing noise on your new TV which indicates it is set to the internal analogue tuner with no antenna connected. You could try connecting the antenna directly to the new TV to verify that.

For Mr Rangieman (Et al) - it appears Phillips, to boost their image, applied a 3 year warranty to their home electronic products last year (?) and made it retrospective. My DVD recorder had a hiccup, and when I asked Phillips for some updated firmware, they directed me straight to a warranty repair. So if your other Phillips equipment dies, produce proof of purchase ( Bank records will suffice ) and it's all good.

Well, alls well that ends well............................after being totally frustrated, and that's easy for me when I joust with electronics, I gave up, got on the computer, poured out my frustration, had a couple of reds and went to bed......................however................ all was not far from my mind............
after thinking about it before sleep I decided to get a few metres of coax from Bunnings, make a new lead from the balun to the amplifier as a last resort and to take out the coax wall plug which I installed while wiring it all up.

This morning I removed said wall plug before the trip to Bunnings and Bingo!!!.................everything worked perfectly.

I have a similar problem, we have an LG 60 inch HI Def LCD Rearpro, and we have a blue cast in the top left and bottom right. There are no speakers or anything else within a metre of the TV and it appears to be getting worse.

Any ideas would be great.

with this one....have you tried pressing the chanel button....?
if its on standby....the chanel button should switch it on.....

Maggot what exact model please and is it a rear pro or is it a dlp...ie does it have a lamp?
if it does then contact lg as there have been problems with the dlp light engine in the dlp.
I have repaired 2 of these so far but I now know that lg will replace the part or the set but you must contact them
