    Dayboro Show Postponement

Owing to the lockdown, here in Qld, the Show Commitee decided, during the week, to postpone this weekend's show. A wise decision indeed, seeing that the lockdown has been extended in our district!

Hopefully it will get the 'Green Light' in a couple of months.

Dayboro Show, that guaranteed drought breaking event! Or am I confusing it with the rodeo?

Yes, the Dayboro rodeo is, more often than not, blessed with copious amounts of precipitation!

Looks like, with the rain forecast, the postponement of the show, because of lockdown, has a bit of a silver lining!

The likelihood and volume of precipitation at any event is directly proportional to the interest and intent of attendance at said event.

    Love the small agricultural shows.

I had the sheer delight of taking my daughters school show team to many of the country shows surrounding Brisbane for a number of years , meeting heaps of locals , CWA scones and cream , shearing comps, woodchops, dog trials and tractors.

I've watched the Ekka modernise to the point I no longer go , but there's still some really good ones that haven't modernised which are worth travelling to.

We used to travel around a lot of country show in NSW with our dogs (Staffordshire Bull Terriers) when I was a kid. Always enjoyed seeing the some of the crafty stuff (particularly the photography) and the wood chopping. Haven't been to one in many many years.

I noticed that the first rain after winter was normally when the Gold Coast Indy was on.

You can borrow my ax, Chook! I don't normally let other people use it, either!
