    Welcome to Wathaurong (Wadda Wurrung)

A little family debate if I am a Wathaurong Woiworung or Gulidjan born

Lived and worked in Gundigjmara, Kuring-gai and Wajuk lands. Where do you live or come from on this cool map

Was born in the "Tharawal" area, but have now retired to the "Tommeginne" area.

Thanks for the map, very useful in looking up the different tribal areas of our indigenous people.

'Thanks', ND. A good reference tool.
I was under the impression that our property was Gubbi Gubbi, but it looks like it's in Waka Waka country.

I'm off to Mulgumpin, Yuggera land, on Monday, by the way.

I work closely with the locals a good mate is an Elder.

Shares the history of the area and its people, it’s good to sit and talk with him and hear the history.

I'm in the Yuggera area, but can't see Mulgumpin on the map?

    'Moreton Island'.

I have always known the island by the Aboriginal name 'Gnoorganbin', but for the last few years, it has been referred to, by all and sundry, as 'Mulgumpin'.

I have contacted the relevant Aboriginal Corporation, QYAC, for clarification.

I was born in Gumbainggir, but I think I now live in Waka Waka (boundary a bit unclear).

I'm Gungallida, was asked to join a couple of years ago, had to do an initiation but, thankfully, not get scarred.
Apparently don't do that any more unless you want it.

Funnily, early this year I was asked to join Wyanii, I said I was already Gungallida, they said that's OK, white fellas can be honoree both.
    That's still to happen yet.

    Only Girriwa to go!

BTW It is a really big thing to be asked/invited. I was very proud.
