Good luck to Brisbane I do hope it goes well but you will need deep pockets and overall experience shows economic returns are not necessarily realised and ends up being a costly exercise.
What a lot of rot. Russia was the favourite, but was blown out of the water by the WADA doping ban storm. One of the penalties for Russia was they were not allowed to bid on any international sporting event for a number of years. A North/ South Korea bid was a hot favourite, until they fell out once again. London, Madrid , Mumbai, Florence and Jakarta also prpared bids, but for one reason or another fell by the wayside.A German bid to host the games over 13 cities was put up, but fell away as well. And where did you get the idea the bid was put up by any one else but Anna? Here is the news report from September 10 , 2019, when Anna announced the bid. You really are something , making up a story like that.

The news video explains it all, along with where most of the money is coming from, and how much the games will give to Brisbane and QLD.

So along with all this infrastructure and stadiums, accommodation, etc, are they going upgrade the water supply infrastructure?? Pop another dam in somewhere??? Didn't think so.

Highest capacity was 83.4% capacity (2018) since 21/7/2016 and is currently at 59.6%. In the last 5 years there has been more decline than replenishment. And the population isn't getting any smaller.

I reckon if some of you blokes were gifted a new car, you'd complain because the fuel tank was empty.

I'd probably say "what's wrong with it, why are you giving it away".

Great decision with the Gabba,it just had a huge upgrade, cost blew out to $42 mill, and they are going to bulldoze it?As she said"the Gabba upgrade is a no brainer"

Fantastic decision that was.And the school next door is going to be moved on as well, its been there since Adam was a boy.

I really dont know if we will be any better off with it,i bet the development and operational costs will balloon right out(when dont they?),particularly when whatever govt is involved, then we will be paying it off for decades.

Probably why I'm not grumpy, because I don't.

And do anything to sort out the massive amount of traffic congestion we have these days?It costs businesses millions of $$.

They probably conveniently forgot about that, even though they are well over 10yrs behind in road works and road infrastructure.
