... I don't get it...(becoming a catch phrase of mine ).....we just got a call from a practise offering us Phizer and said they have plenty available. We have done other vaccinations there , that's why they contacted us..... we have already done AZ.
.....now there either is (for some) Phizer Vax or there isn't.....who is telling porkies?
If anyone needs to know who the practise is ...SE Qld...I can put it up here......with moderators permission.

So it's just a puff piece designed to get clicks for its advertising. Have you even looked at the EMA's website to understand what their processes are? Probably not - that's my whole point - do some additional research and look at the sources being quoted to get a bigger picture.
Based on the headline people are probably running off telling their Neighbors that we won't be able to travel to Europe because of this - in fact we can't travel to Europe currently because we're a nation of mainly unvaccinated people with a huge uncontrolled outbreak at the moment. By the time we can travel, the AU produced variant will have been run through their approval process - there is currently no need to do that and if you read their website and understand how they have proritised the approvals, it's been based on when people will need and be able to travel there - Australia isn't in the picture for that yet, so it's further down the list is all.
So my point stands - don't rely on news articles and social media for your information - it leads to inaccurate conclusions a lot of the time.

Interestingly, AstraZeneca is currently the most widely accepted vaccine for overseas travel according to the Economist.com.

I would expect the US will eventually come on board when they want to re-establish free movement from the UK and Canada.

AstraZeneca still remains the most widely accepted vaccine, but more approvals will come for this and Pfizer.

Obviously getting the Australian manufactured AZ recognised as the equivalent to the European AZ is the next step.
Correct, however as the article says, the name change doesn’t come into affect until late 2021 - potentially too late for the 70-80% who want to travel OS on Aussie AZ.Quote:

You know you have first world problems when you hold off getting vaccinated because you are waiting to see which countries you can travel to first.
I guess that is why I held two passports for a long time as it gave me visa free access to a few more countries. [emoji41]
