Community school had half it's kids there when it was supposed to be closed except for vulnerable kids and the children of essential workers. The principal had written to Daniel Andrews last month and said:

“Children are gifted with immune systems that appear designed to combat and defeat COVID. Closing their schools is causing much greater harm to them than COVID ever will,” it said.
“Keeping primary schools open supports children’s learning and mental health – their learning and mental health suffer when they are isolated.”

So, now there are 33 positive cases at the school, more than 20 of which are kids. Let's hope that they don't get long Covid.

And if isolation affects mental health then there are thousands of country kids whose learning and mental health are apparently suffering even when there isn't a pandemic .... which is ridiculous and just isn't the case.


Ironically, we received an email from our daughter's school yesterday that provided an update on learning at a distance and noted how well the kids had adapted and how resilient they were - notwithstanding that my daughter tells me that there's a bit of cyber-wagging going on.

the Land Rover dealership in Docaster vic is a contact point.

My son got a text from the primary school tonight saying that the youngest is not a close contact and can be let out of her room (but Yass is "stay at home").

And as far as kids not getting covid - my brother in Houston has passed on to me the news about a four year old in Texas, with no risk factors, who was admitted to hospital and was dead within 24 hours of the first symptoms appearing. Not usual, but it happens.

There was an exposure site mid year at the tall unit building behind Park Beach Plaza at Coffs which put the workers into isolation after a building company person from Sydney visited it and then tested positive.
The same person went on to Lismore and caused the shutdown of building work at the Lismore Base Hospital.

I am getting flack for sticking to the rulz over 60 AZ only as NT and a few other places are allowing some or more older than 60s to book Pfizer or Moderna we hear or in my case had one or two very grumpy people tell me [bighmmm][bighmmm] I called the AUTHORITY who sgt Schultz it in an email response- they are probably waiting for the TV announcement again?


Noting a big pick up in vaccinations all over the place. Chemist the very slow yet surprisingly loud GPs and extra State government mass Vax hubs are all welcome when they start soon.

Multiple calls about my QLD holiday starting in the morning. Are we flying??? Its illegal to drive to the airport. QLD doesn't want us. j-star must be stressed about me not being able to go? They do not sound inclined to refund my money of course.

Hi mate - a lot of your posts are written in a way that you assume most of us know who you are and what you do - however many of us (me) do not.

To set the scene for your very relevant comments in the future, can you tell us what you do and how you are involved in the vaccination program - from your posts I took it that you were a local GP then at other times I think otherwise.
