    New bits this week.

Well in the 3 weeks I have had the Pig I have 2.5mm checker plated her in the usual places but took the rear quarter panel upto the level of the bottom of the fuel filler port, Added a Safari Snorkel, fitted the overland Hilift jack roof rack mount and bought a Troutbeck diff guard and steering protector 8mm alloy plate and fitted a TuffDog RTC SD

Question can you convert a normal bull bar to make it winch capable? is it a matter of just cutting the gap for the fairlead?
Oh God how I love toys..can Santa fit a Maxi in his sack?

Still undescided on wht type of rock/tree sliders to make.. suggestions and pitfalls please.

I heard that its not worth it. The bull bar will be weakened but I don't know for certain.

Good stuff but without photos this thread is utterly useless.

A non winch bar cant be turned into a winch bar by simply cutting the hole for the cable etc as the mounts to the car arent designed to have pulling forces applied to them. If you modified the mounts to take the pulling strain it might be doable but i dont know how legal it would be. Matt

    Hi DirtyDawg
Put a headlight/driving light wiring kit from Drivesafe on your wish list.I got mine this week, there is real good value in the kit$110 delivered, compared to around $140 for a headlight only kit from ARB,provided you are able to do a little bit of the work yourself, very easy due to Drivesafes easy to follow instructions.
I will post pics of standard, new kit and new kit plus upgraded globes once Ive done the conversion. Was going to do it this weekend but worked my RDO 2day so didnt get into the auto elec to get new battery terminals fitted.Got firewood orders and lawnmowing this weekend so it will need to wait.

ACE I would love to walk around with a camera strapped to my ass but I don't have the time with work,Kids and adding to the Toy.. when I'm able I will post some.Until then my questions will have to be answered without the added benefit of pics.
Andrew, Sounds like the go, but with electrics the neg - symbol is a sign for me to keep away.., I weld like I eat messy and all over the place but I can build a damn fine wall I would like to make some rock/tree sliders but I don't know wether to go bent tube (scaffolding pipe) or box I literally have a ton of 6-8mm mild steel lintels here from left overs of houses I have built (no didn't leave em out, builder ordered too many)I have approx 25 steels rangin from 70mmx70mmx1000mm to 150x100x3200mm so I Have heaps of material just haven't settled on a design.
This weekend is replacing the diff oil pinion seals, finishing the checker plate on the bonnet and inside rear door and painting the wheels as they are those GC steel jobbies and have some minor surface rust. When I'm finished I'll whip the camera out.

You will need to make a winch cradle that fits behind the bar to mount a winch to, some 6mm steel angle 3" x 5" with 2 pieces ( 1 either side) so that the 5" section sits behind but paralell to the front flat section of your bar (depending on how you want to mount it ). Hard to explain easier to draw. I will attach a pic of the cradle my mate made when i can find the disck with the photo editing software on it.
