Guys, please read and sign this petition. This seemingly could / will greatly affect 4WD motorsport within Victoria such as NavRuns, NavNite, Ateco/Vic Winching Challenges, Rockcrawling ect....---->

Recent changes to Victorian planning controls now prohibit a "Motor Racing Track" statewide in new rural zones. The definition of a Motor Racing Track in the planning documents is as follows-

"Land used to race, rally, scramble, or test, vehicles, including go-karts, motor boats, and motorcycles, and includes other competitive motor sports."

This new law prevents any legally conducted events including rally, enduro, mototrials, grasstrack, tractor pulls, water ski and even private recreational vehicle use. In addition the prohibition extends to events not requiring any formed or constructed race track or infrastructure. It also includes one off competitions or training/practice days unless the land is re-zoned.

While Government representatives agree it was not the intention of the changes they are not willing to fix the problem!

This could affect a large number of clubs and motorsport enthusiasts including myself.
It is just BS that they can and will do this with such limited consultation from anyone who may be affected!!
They all need to get a life and go out and enjoy somthing instead of sitting in offices telling uis how to live

I don't know the whole story, but if they are refering to rural zones as land around houses in urban areas, what's the problem? ir does this cover a much larger land area then that ?

You cant then use the land for any competitive motorsport where alot of stuff takes place.

Bloody beaurocrats. This country has turned into a seething nest of big-headed beaurocrats who seem intent on balling us all up in cotton wool so that no-one interacts with anyone else - saving the "community" billions in litigation.

Time to move to Canada or America and have fun again.

What is their definition of a "Rural Zone"? I live in a Rural area that has hundreds of five acre properties in it. Black Duck Valley is in a rural area, albeit in Qld.

This is the new make up of rural zones - farming, rural activity and rural living.

If the land is zone for farming because of this new law, any motorsport carried out on private land will be not allowed, such as the ATECO in 2 weeks time. Even private land!
I would imagine the likelyhood of having farming land rezoned for rural activity would be fairly low especially because it may be used for motorsport.

Im not overly sure, but this seems like the all to normal buearacracy gone mad again and it keeps affecting us negatively.

Its just BS.

so you pay all that money to buy YOUR OWN block of australia, you have to pay rates ect ect and THEN they tell you what you can and cant do with it!
