    Back home

Just got back home after almost two weeks away. To Yass with d-i-l and grandkids - five of us (and three dogs) in the 110 and the back plus trailer full of their stuff. Then on to Melbourne for the earth Sciences convention, back via Yass to pick up the trailer and my dog.

Only problems is I now seem to have a manifold gasket leak (I could hear it but finally located it) and an intermittent problem that seems to be the starter trying to engage on switch-off (???).

Overall fuel consumption just over 10l/100km. Fuel prices quite variable, but only bought fuel in Yass and Melbourne.

Guessing Yass was a little higher than Melbourne? Right now Diesel is a lot cheaper than it has been for ages.

Paid 142.7 from memory in Yass, managed about 132.8 in Melbourne, by looking around, from a place near Watergardens, who gave you 4 c/l discount (on the first 100l) if you spent $5 in their shop, which was OK as I was buying an 'Age' and a couple of chocolate bars anyway. But I bought 120l, hence the 'about' (from Dubbo to home thence Yass thence Melbourne, dropping my grand daughter off at a friends in Wantirna then to my son's in Caroline Springs).
