    My Wife said I'm Insensitive

A mate of mine came over with a 2004 V8 Ford explorer he had just bought so he could come along on my 4wd expeditions.
I shook my head, had a chuckle and walked inside again.
Over a beer I had a go at him for not consulting me first. I suggested what do I do if the landy is full, He said "what do you mean" I said" Well you won't be able to follow me so you will have to pull over and jump in mine"
And fuel prices you richard cranium, electrics ,clearence etc etc.
well after he left somewhat dejected my wife says " you are so insensitive". I shook my head, had a chuckle an walked outside again.

Just take him out and let him learn unless there is a still time to return it and get his money back. At least if he has a 4wd he can still get out and discover what he requires.

You did it all wrong DD, you were at least honest, but you should have taken him out so he could see for himself the mistake he made, then he could have sold it for half the price he paid for it because thats what he would need to do to get rid of it, then buy a classic rangie or D1 with what was left. My Psychology classes would love you for this. Your mate (the victim) is looking for positive assurance as to his (maybe) $50,000+ purchase, which in his eyes is the best thing he's ever done. And you've said his purchase is not the bees knees, so he's down, not only $50k+ but also down on ego. You've relegated him to a Daewoo.

good - he should have listened to wise advice - and not been a belligerent sob, wasting so much loot on such a 'vehicle'.....could have bought a couple of Land Rovers for that money.
