John okas are like other vehicles they drive on the tread not on their side walls. Fright but glad your not hurt.

Hi John, well you drive one front wheel into a big hole on a bend the end results a given regardless of the tyre or vehicle. The 325/85R16's (38") are certainly the goods off road, these Michelin XML's are certainly the BEST off road tyre money can buy, nothing comes near them but not real flash on the bitumen and tyre wear is a big issue. I wore out a set in 35000 Km touring and with frequent rotation, but off road, the ducks guts What size were your previous tyres, they appear to be 19.5's but what size ? They come in 265 or 285 or 305 R19.5. The 265's are total crap and only good for old F trucks or kids swings if you're really stuck, 285's are a bit hard to come by these days but 305's (36") are a real strong tyre and the goods for every day use as long as you don't run drive tyres on the steer (IMO).

The 325/85R16 Michelin XML's are usually ex military ASLAV tyres. Unfortunately the ASLAV's are now obsolete so the (affordable) source for these (surplus) tyres is probably run out. Ian Jones Oka Repairs is the only source I know of that may still have these tyres available.

Thing is, I didn’t drive the front wheel in. I just didn’t have quite enough room to get round the hole and the rear slid in. The previous were 265, old and quite worn. The XMLs are awesome, but I don’t have to replace them with the same size.
Had I had had them on though, I would have driven through the hole and not tried to go around.

OKAPete has some on his that are 35's on the same size rims. I'm pretty sue I could find some 37's that would go on. I also could have some Army contacts.... Might be some XMLs surplus somewhere.
