Maybe with a knife and fork Hamburgers.....Hamburgers.....

They make these burgers to look the part but in reality as Toxic_Avenger says, the bigger the diameter the better and you’d probably get more into it, not just easier to eat

I think that burger is actually bigger than a human stomach.

What astounds me is only a few of the owners of these businesses get caught by the Health Dept.

There are also many places around that are run very well, when it comes to Hygiene, and preparation and storage of food.

I put myself through Uni working in a chain of pancake restaurants, including working there full-time for a year - and it was spotless despite a massive amount of meals going through there in a day: for example, we used to use a tonne of milk each day for milkshakes and batter. There were drain holes in the kitchen floors, which were tiled: the cleaning regime was such that they had to replace the copper pipes that were under the drain holes every couple of years because the cleaning chemicals we used to wash the floors used to erode them.

In contrast there was a very fashionable restaurant in South Yarra that I also worked in and the first time I went in there I wondered why the stainless steel walls in the kitchen were speckled: they weren't, it was cockroaches sitting on the walls.

There was also a restaurant in Carlton where, when we picked up a slice of pizza there was a cockroach under it. I reported it to the Council, who didn't seem really concerned and eventually conceded that the place had a cockroach problem.

    Japanese burgers

There are quite a few hamburger chains in Japan that don't have stores overseas and do good , or interesting at least, burgers. My favourite is Mos Burger - it's what a McDonalds burger looks like and tastes like when it gets made by people with a serious food culture ... freshly made, quality ingredients, relatively minimalist, well presented. There was a Mos Burger in the Gold Coast which was quite authentic, not sure if it's still there.

If you want an old-style burger in Melbourne a lot of people rate Dannys in Fitzroy North: I didn't think that it was that great but lots of people seem to.
