1979 prototype Holden VH barn find

Not my first choice of car but certainly a piece of Australian motoring history that needs preserving:

I had the opportunity to drive one in Darwin when I was working for Suttons.

At the time it seemed to be a fairly pleasant combination of small V8 engine and manual box.

    Sold it fairly quickly too.

The picture is of a VH. My old man had one when he died in Feb 1984. It was a couple of years old then.

Had an 82 VH SLE. Very hot 3.5l blue motor (bored 3.3) with Sig Erson roller rockers, new cast Yellow Terra head with porting etc, steel timing gear, double valve springs and good valves, US made billeted cam, full balance including finding a machine shop that balanced the harmonic balancer. It flew. Far quicker than 3.0 turbo VL's and my various mates 4.2 and 5.0 Commodores. Should have kept that one. Cheers
