Yes they were before they closed down every branch they could think of. Stirling does not even have a cash machine anymore & that was the last remaining vestige that there had even been Banks here. That machine was installed in the front of the Pharmacy of all places.
Fortunately AP can do a Balance print out for the Finance guy coming today but cash? Oh no. That **** is olde fashioned don't you know. No idea why it was removed, maybe the rental charges were too great.

CBA, gone ANZ gone Westpac went a couple of years ago Who else is there these days? No body.
If we need Bank services we have to go down to the smoke to Burnside or East to Mount Barker neither are convenient & Stirling is now quite a large, growing town. Or try & do it online.
My computer won't spit out $100 notes, does yours? You wish eh?

There appears to be an Air Compressor or summat in that image or could it be a Vac pump for summat used in the installation or was it nicked & dumped?

The poor bugger was probably very hungry & while the bait wasn't his it would have been on the nose if the power had gone.

Then again, maybe he's is a bit weird? Was it Rob Kayak moonlighting?

yeah 4bee , I understand your feelings about cash , but to be honest , I have had about $150 cash in my wallet that I have not touched for about 18mths......I have no need to....eftpos /cashless trade has caught up to me , as the mobile phone usage is as well , mostly because I have a very patient tolerant wife who lives this life as I get dragged along behind , not kicking and struggling as much as I used to.

I have just inherited her "old" smart phone as her employer just issued new ones to their management team.

I am slowly understanding how the smartphone can take control of everything in our dailly lives.....actually quite painlessly

So yeah, once you get used to using these things you don't need to visit the at machines( my computer wont let me write the abbreviated form)

so, the smart phone, as long as it is charged is making life so much easier for the thousands of flood affected people without power, access to their banks , or other services they need.

and just to add to everything , we are experiencing thunderstorms and more heavy rain this morning....better charge my phone up hahaha.

I would not have minded only that we purchased the cook top 7 weeks & I received a receipt stating in stock Brisbane & delivery 2 days , the day after D/D they contacted me to say C/T was not in stock & gave me a new D/D in 4 weeks , the day before that date was contacted again stating due to Covid & lack of transport from Melbourne the new date would be Tuesday. Now they are saying Friday so we now have to cancel my doctors appointments hoping they will turn up Friday. I spent half of Wednesday on the phone yesterday trying to get through to the supplier listing to how my call was important to them to be told it had been delivered & I informed them it hadn't because the driver wouldn't use toll roads . The centenary Hwy reopened yesterday , we have just had another 60mm over night & there is a lot more to come today so if this keeps up it may close again . To make things worst we lost power 10pm last Friday & power came back on just before lunch yesterday & the guy we who is going to enlarge the hole in our granite bench top business went under water in Sumner Park so we may have to find someone else. Suppose we can.t complain there are lots who have lost everything , just getting sick of cooking on one of those single burner stoves that take the small butane pressure cans.
I dont know where the truck was coming from, but going from somewhere like Brookfield to Ipswich was a nightmare with Centenary HWY shut.Milton road and Coronation drives were also closed.
One of the boys had to go from Brookfield to Borallon, gave up,went the next day when the Centenary HWY was open.

But not going somewhere because of Tolls is a real **** poor excuse.
