Thumbs up Seeking Testimonials and product reviews from TRAXIDE customers please.

    Hi all,

I'm helping Tim to create a brand new Traxide Tronics website
Yes, I hear you all saying 'thank goodness'

I'd very much appreciate if people could submit:

    • Testimonials re their dealings with Tim / Traxide in general.
    • Reviews (even very brief ones) of any Traxide product you have installed, or used etc.

Please send them to me via whichever of the following best suits you.
    • email (click on the email link in my profile), or
    • Private message here on AULRO, or
    • Publicly as a response to this thread.

Any suggestions you may have for me regarding how you prefer to interact with websites, when shopping for Land Rover stuff, would also be welcome.

    Thanks in advance

I am very happy to provide a testimonial on this forum.

I visited Tim at his home years ago, an extremely knowledgeable bloke and as you know so , easy to get along with.

I bought a Traxide unit for the Landmark , for dual battery and extra socket and winch mode capabilities , and with Tim’s concise instruction pamphlet ,fitting was simple.

No issues to date. Highly recommend .

    I'm not a typical on-line buyer but :

I ignore any testimonials on any vendors web site and tend to look suspiciously at any site that has more than a few. If I want reviews, a site controlled by the vendor is the last place I'd look.

I appreciate the facts, tell us about the product, technical detail, links to manuals and pricing. Pretty much any form of "contact us for more information" and I'll drive on by.

Don't make me have to ask for more information, just make it available.

I agree. The site will be full of all the info backed up with Tims phone support

Tims there to help but All the info about the products you'd ever need to know will be on the site.

The one in place currently is an interim arrangement between the old one and the fresh one which have all new content.

    Thanks for the input 👍

Tim’s always happy to answer the phone and chat about any of his products and the best way to install and use them - he’s a wealth of information and he should leverage off that fact as so many Vendors just want to hide behind their websites and not interact by phone with potential customers.

Happy to write a review - I’ll email it when I’m in front of my computer.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

Hi Brad and while I agree with most of your post, it is not quite that straightforward.

I already have more info on my old site than you will find on any other, but the new site will have even more.

Also, displaying all the info possible, in my case, does not always help the customer, particularly when they are new to my field.

So having customers phone me, to get more specific info, is an absolute necessary to making sure they get exactly what they need.

For example, many customers ring up to order any one of the kits that include the USI-160 isolators, because they think they need high current switching ability.

If they are fitting or have an electric winch fitted, then yes, the USI-160 is the way to go.

But in most cases, they have no intentions of ever fitting a winch and when they phone me, I explain why they do NOT need the more expensive isolator.

It is not just explaining my kits and how they work that is needed on my website, but I will be making a bigger effort to explain why other systems just are not needed or how they fall short of how my systems work.

Another example, just a week or so back, a customer phoned me to see if he could use my kit, he already had fitted to his vehicle, in conjunction with a lithium cranking battery and a lithium auxiliary battery.

I explained, in detail, that he could not use a lithium cranking battery in his Land Rover, or any other make of vehicle with a SMART alternator.

I explained that because the BMS ( Battery Management System ) in vehicle with SMART alternator operation, will not charge a lithium battery properly.

Long story short, armed with the info gained from our phone conversation, the customer rang the company claiming he could run a lithium cranking battery, and with his new knowledge, he was able to get them to tell him what REALLY happens when using a lithium cranking battery.

He will be lucky to ever get the lithium cranking battery much over 20% charged at anytime. But the company told him that this is fine as the lithium battery, down as low as 20%, will easily start his motor.

I then explained that while running around town, yes this would suffice, but the first time he went camping, he would have problems starting his motor because, like most new vehicles, but more so with any new Land Rover, if he went to the vehicle and opened a door, to say go to the fridge, or opening and shutting the doors while unpacking, he would quickly flatten a lithium cranking battery to the point when the lithium cranking battery would shut down.

This makes a lithium cranking battery totally useless and he agreed.

Again, while I have a lot of info on my site, the new one will have a lot more and if there are any other subjects people would like to know about, please let Vlad know.
