According to the VicRoads website “a vehicle on club registration can be driven in any state or territory.”
So according to VicRoads - it’s fine.
I wonder if WA feel the same way?
Hi All WA members,
I am investigating a trip next year that would involve driving my Perentie FFR on Victorian Club Permit plates into WA.
I have driven vehicles on Club Plates throughout Vic, into NSW, SA and TAS without issue.
Are there any issues driving a vehicle on a Vic Club Permit in WA?
A friend said that he has been told you can’t drive a Vic vehicle on club plates in WA?
I will do some more research but thought that I would start here.
Any thoughts?
Cheers,
GG

I remember a Club member taking part in the Mystery Box Rally (smaller version of the ****box rally). I'm sure it wasn't straightforward driving on VIC Club Plates in WA but this was a while ago.....
I'll see him at The Auspack Expo tomorrow, I'll ask if I remember.
Found this on VicRoads.
Use of Victorian Club Permit vehicles interstate
- Club Permit vehicles may be driven throughout all states and territories provided that the vehicle complies with Victorian requirements for the holding of the Club Permit.

As long as it isn't more than 3 months I don't think you will have a problem![]()

I would ask the WA authorities as I have it in the back of mind that they do not recognise other state permits - but maybe that is in the context of unreg drive permits.
Not an issue for club registered vehicles from the ACT, as their registration is not a permit but is a class of registration - classed as concessional.

I know that when it's the Rover Car Club WA turn to hold the National Rove there there are club members from all states drove over there with club plates & there has not been any reports of any problems.
The situation with WA must have changed.
I remember someone else going into the ****box rally and at the time there was a problem.
About to do something silly! ****box rally in a landy?
Wouldn't hurt to drop the WA DoT an email and ask. contact.centre@transport.wa.gov.au

It may have been because it was a Rally , I remember years ago I showed interested in going on a Brisbane LR Club run in a State Forest , was told I could not take my S1 on club rego , it had to have full rego . Every state is different . I also remember reading in a car Mag once sum guy had a problem taking his car trailer across the border from Vic to SA & copping a fine for un registered trailer .
These points could be incorrect as being hear say![]()
