Interesting to note if the same occurred here. I had almost $5,000 in private flu vax in my fridges beside even more free ones for over 65 and co. If the Vic government made it a free for all with out first agreeing to acquire my private stocks I would be not amused.

I like what QLD gov is doing yet appreciate the Doctors, pharmacies and others who have been doing there job helpfully might feel unhappy with the lack of thought in this.

Two sides to all most all things Saitch. I wonder if QLD could rebate the amount you paid? That would seem fair?

The DOB bit was not in the statement????

It comes amid a major outbreak that had seen more than 4,000 flu cases already reported this year.
Queensland Health warns cases have been doubling every week — increasing from 1,848 cases to 4,282 in the latest data released last week.Key points:

    • More than 150 Queenslanders have been hospitalised with the flu so far, while 10 are in ICU
    • The Australian Medical Association says Queensland's current flu trajectory is "frightening"
    • Businesses have been warned to prepare for staffing shortages over the winter months

Now my bit. You lucky lucky buggers! I have to charge for everyone over 5 and under 65 years old. The price is $15 and we do not charge for the Doc or Nurse giving it. Getting the $15 or working out who in the >5 and <65 might have a health condition that allows a freebie here as well That costs me a lot in time and admin.

When I say lucky I think QLD Docs and Nurses are as well as free makes it cheaper and quicker! I wonder if we can all just drop up for a visit and a flu shot

That costs me a lot in time and admin.

Yeah & time better spent running & Fishing & stuff.

    Apology:

I must apologise to Saitch, it was not my intention to draw attention to the working condition, or otherwise, of his aged brain function.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

    Going for my Jab tomorrow.
In Aboriginal Communities all doctors, medication etc is free all the time. I don't know who funds that, State or Feds?
Even though all this stuff is free they still have huge problems getting folks around here to get their jabs be it for whatever.
To encourage people to get the Covid jabs they gave away prizes with each shot in the arm.
I did not get any prizes, just 3 holes in my arm.

I read a post on another forum by a doctor.

They were informed at the same time as the general public.
They can't use federally provided flu shots.
They can't use flu shots they already have in stock (and have paid for) as they won't be reimbursed.
There is no system in place for the supply of the flu shots that the government claims will be provided for free.

Seems like another politician going off half cocked without a clue how to implement what they are claiming will happen.

If I'd gone to my regular G.P. it was a freebie, but I couldn't be bothered with the drive. I went to my local apothecary instead.
