Who would have thought? Probably just an honest miscalculation, I'm sure.

Probably confusion with litres, plastic and imperial gallons.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

I just test drove a vehicle that’s on my short list for a new company car - Not a Land Rover - and I asked what the economy was - he told me 7.6 litres per hundred. I said ‘So 10’s yeah?’ To which he replied - yep, just under 10 overall is what you’ll get with a mix of town and highway driving.

So at least the Sales guy was honest - no idea who would actually believe what the OEM’s stated figures are.

I love our mondeo diesel. 6 litres per hundred. I know diesels aren't the rage anymore but we live in the bush. It cuts our trip costs in half compared with any other car I've owned.

They are believable if your put thinner oils in engine, gearbox, diff and take the mirrors off, and tape all the gaps in bonnet, doors, boot for better aerodynamics, all allowed.

Don't forget to slick your hair down and tape your ears back as well.

I'd love to see how the cops would react if we all did that so we could get the figures they claim.

Mind you there seem to be a lot of drivers out there that have no idea what mirrors are for anyway, so maybe no one would notice...

They're easy to pick, they're the ones with messy hair.
