    Its just a flu"147,155 notifications "+++

The +++ is as only about 20% of flu case might be reported.

Meeting dozens who have had a not relaxing 3 week or so very flat out cannot get out of bed box of tissues daily major pain time with Flu over the last several weeks.

Our vax blitz just slowed down then the vic gov changed the rulz again - It was made free for all until 30 June. Its now free until 10 July.

"2022 to date, people aged 5–9 years, children aged younger than 5 years, and people aged 10–19 years have the highest notification rates."

The fact the kids are the majority of the notifications after testing is interesting in some ways. Not going to add the depressing bits - body counts are not nice!"

"83.4% of notifications of laboratory-confirmed influenza reported to the NNDSS were influenza A, of which 94.8% were influenza A(unsubtyped), 0.8% were influenza A(H1N1), and 4.4% were influenza A(H3N2). Influenza B accounted for 0.1% of notifications, less than 0.1% were A&B co-infections, and 16.5% were untyped"

Having A type or the others did NOT stop a few unlucky sods getting another type! When sick, peoples immunity way down creating many suffering the double whammy of another pain in the butt which is not yet too common. A hospital near me is NOT in a happy place again poor sods.

Cobden in the Western Districts of Vic had hospital, schools and everything locked up with the double sneeze event I hear

Did I mention its free for a flu vaccine in several states

NZ looks bleak A MAP of cases gives a bit of insight

    Flutracking Map

The lockdowns over here ended a couple of months ago and when I went out to a concert for the first time in years, I came back sick as well (not the coofs). Our immune systems have gone on a holiday with us they are not used to doing anything anymore.

Not trying to start a political yarn about the whole chinese flu debacle but one thing is for certain, it did not do our natural immunity any good. I have been "sick" twice since and I feel only now is my body getting back up to scratch with self defense. Many others around me have shown similar symptoms.

    Cheers,
    -P

Flu jabbing here in this side of the island is also free - for all. Advertising is ramping up recently.

Caught the middle of a news report driving home tonite.... Apparantly QLD has suffered (about?) 24 fatalities this year, from the common-or-garden 'flu. this year. On track for 'one per week'. Anyone familiar with their covid mortality ? How do they compare ???
    Just asking.

For those who are beside themselves, missing out on their 3rd or 4th boosters.... You need not worry overmuch now... Latest NEJM assures us of the existance of, AND better value of Natural immunity. 300 days from previous infection (length of study) vs '80' days from booster. Each...

Sadly a bus load of dead people from Covid Weekly this year. Flu deaths are not as big yet may be implicates as low immunity from either Covid or Flu might make a sadly predictable trend. Natural immunity?? not a science based study I noted the Xmas covid cases crew have been getting round 2 or round 3 in some cases here.

While 3rd or more doses are not stopping you getting BA4 and 5, the outcome is significantly less hospitalization for those who did.

Suspect I will shut up covid and flu vax in a few weeks. The adhoc ones can slot in to work as normal if there is such a thing at present.

Its always a numbers game. The Measles case in the UK show that clearly.
