It is definitely a less refined engine than the Toyota or Ford offering that’s for sure but in cab noise is similar to both - I think it’s just something you get used to and put up with when you drive a diesel dual cab. I did have an SV6 Holden ute as a company car for a short time - I sure did love driving that over any dual cab…

Recently,one of my brothers went from an 18yr old petrol Prado to a new MUX.

He hated the MUX ,noise was the main issue,and a small fuel tank.In the NT a large fuel tank is very handy.

I don't know why he bought the MUX,maybe the salesman was good at his job.

Anyway,back in a new Prado,and he is happy.

He did well getting 18 years out of a Prado without breaking the chassis. I've seen so many at around 10 to 12 years crack in the front behind the engine mounts it's not funny. Yota even have a factory fix for it if you love your car that much you'll pay half the price of a new one for the repair.

Actually, my step daughter has one of the things. Wonder if she knows.

That Brother would be flat out changing a wheel and the vehicle was serviced at the dealer.

So until the front fell completely off,nothing would probably be noticed....

It certainly did more than it's fair share of miles on dirt roads,and had huge mileage on it when it was sold.

They were pretty reliable if serviced properly.If not coolant often appeared where it wasn't suppose to be.

Colli and Mux are different beasts now. Engines etc aren’t shared anymore.

One thing on the Mux - design fail.

Try lowering sun visor! It covers the mirror
