Nah that doesn't happen, it will be one line in, be it single phase or 3 phase, then separate main fuses for each unit. Its always been that way.

I asked because as far as I am aware each meter has its own account with its own service charges for that account.
IF you dont want/need the second meter get it disconected/removed so that you dont incur the second service charges, IF you want to keep the extra meter then be prepared to pay the extra costs.
We had 3x meters on the Same farm (2x houses and the shed) and we got 3x power bills each with its own service charges.
