Getting a young athlete to MTB world championships

    Hi All,
My young fella, Riley, has been selected to represent Australia at the MTB world championships in Les Gets France later this month.
Riley is currently ranked just inside the top 100 juniors (under 19) in the world.
He was also selected last year, but due to covid Australia didn't send a team.
It has been a very busy year for Riley who is also doing year 12 VCE.
We have started a gofundme, fund raiser, to help get him to France. If any one would like to assist Riley getting to France, we would be very grateful.

    Thanks in advance.

I saw our Zoe Cuthbert win the silver medal in the Commonwealth Games MTB Cross Country, unfortunately Aus didn't medal in the Men's version but did place 6th and 7th.

Wish Riley well from us Tony. Being selected shows how good he is. What you would also know is how much effort and training he puts in to get to that spot. My silly bad habit of 42km is really over 3000km of running each year. Besides the mileage, MTB riding adds a few crashes in training hard. Cool sport but costs Riley a bit of skin at times I bet.

Zoe rode a fantastic race, she is an under 23 rider, so not yet riding in elites.
She has been getting some great results in the world cup series.
Evie Richards, who won the woman's race is the current world champion, really looked like she was struggling on the last lap or so.

Sam Fox was unlucky to get a flat tyre on the first lap, and rode well to come back to 6th. He is also an under 23, and is also riding the road at Comm Games.
He is also getting great results in the world cup.

Of course now I had to Google "Vosper MTB's", and leave a donation on the gofundme page. If you attend the MTB Champs in France, it is just a short hop over the channel to see a similar 60 foot MTB at the Imperial War Museum Duxford, as unfortunately all the 70 foot ones have been destroyed.

Love the way your thinking Mountain bikes could be considered the torpedoes of bike riding in several ways.

Riley has just finished his World Championship race.
He came 74th out of 115.
He had a great start, something happened mid race that had him drop 10 places, then held to the end.

    So proud of him.

Thanks to everyone who helped to get him there.
