Anyone else sick of this rain.

Hi guys well it has been a bad week for me with this rain. At the back of our house there is a creek which runs in to a barrel drain. Council has not cleared and of the growth and rubbish of it for say 7 years.
It was done when we got flooded out in about 2016. Any way the water was so high and fast it punched a large hole in the back of garage, where water as about waist high, and the garage door gave way.
So now all Mario tools and power tools , fishing gear ect have been flooded with water mud and branches. The shelving we had in there was over with everything that was on it in water and mud. These council are not doing there job of checking drain and creeks that run in to barrel drains. The water was just about 2 base boards a way from coming in to the back of the house
So I have been flooded on the Tuesday and then again Thursday. My neigbours have been great they put the self in harms way trying to clear the drains. I did report it to the council to one of there subbranch in Upwey, and I have rang the council again to let the know it happen again and my friends are putting them self at risk. And I have been on to Shannons and they have been great support helping me. They have a guy coming out next wed to see the damage and they are going to organize a team to help clean the garage out. Sorry for the rant. Heather

Yep I'm over it, can't do a bloody thing.
Mind you my inconvenience is nothing compared to all those people affected by the flooding.
Our downstairs laundry keeps flooding and can't fix it til the ground dries out.

I wonder if the Insurance company asked the Council to pay them what they pay you for your loses?

While were where fishing Mario mentioned some thing like "it has to be a good day if we can complain" as we are alive. I might have been grumbling about the very low tide and western port mud

I do love listening to the rain on the roof. Its a bit like watching the waves roll in.

I'm Off to Portland for a 4 hour run in the rain possibly Sunday. Oddly a NNE wind for the morning! It will be a chilled run!

I Love Portland- its windy, rainy and the half marathon people cheer as they run past me up a big hill they start on at my 21km half way point!

I had no choice- The Portland runners club used my ugly mug from a few years ago before titanium reinforcements modification added to me, to promote this years run.

    LOOK AWAY NOW!!

You'll be getting the runoff from up here, Heather.

Best of luck with the council, but YarraRanges are hopeless. Maybe Shannpn's can deal with them. You have enough to deal with.

Shannons have been great so far, the claim assistant I have been assigned to has been good rang me about 3 time yesterday with information and what they have done to start this claim. She also told me that the have support counselling if I need it for free. She said if I need to talk she is there for me as she knew Mario passed away due to changing the policy in to my name now.. It was just upsetting to see all Mario stuff cover in mud and water, it seems I have lost him again, sorry my rant I should stop. Thanks guys, Heather

Heather, if you need to talk, there are plenty of us with functioning ears. Any time.

When it does, it's generally worthwhile.

Could have been taken from my window this morning, except we have real trees.
