    Cheap Rubbish on evilbae

IMG_6331.jpgIMG_6333.jpgNot often that I have a bad experience, but these two replacement cig-socket USB supplies are today's exceptions.
Purchased because they have an inbuilt LED Voltmeter, and while DVM - quality isn't expected, within a volt is good enough.
Alas, you get what you pay for. IMG_6331.jpgIMG_6333.jpg

    Not even close.

Advised the vendor, and trashed them. - Won't run the risk of assuming the 5V. USB. actually IS ok.

Pics explain all.... "dead". 9V. battery. STILL. 12.5V in the car, the one wot got a brand new (Warranty!!!). battery today.
So, WIN. on the car battery, LOSE on the cheapie USB/voltmeters. Such is life.

Dunno what you're complaining about.. I mean, on average the two of them came pretty close

I've had a 1/2 bad or is that all bad experience with this? I ordered 2 items form the same seller rec'd neither, managed to complain and get my money back on one but not on the other, as the seller has stopped using the item code and with evil bay's automated system I can't complain without the code!

I've only had a couple of really bad experiences with sellers. On each occasion I was able to talk to a real person(!) at fleabay, and on each occasion I have received very rapid refunds. These were more than 2 years ago though. Things can easily change.

I should add that you need to be able to demonstrate that an attempt has been made to resolve the issue with the seller. A "message to seller" seems to be sufficient.

Seller most apologetic, full refund. Tried one out on an old obsolete phone... Charged it ok, but.... the '12.5' didn't alter at all. So, it can't be one of those that cranks out 12V or 9V, whatever the market will bear, finishing off on 5 V.
Nope... Reckon it's a fixed display....

IMO, within a volt is not good enough. If you are using this to keep an eye on your charging system 1 volt in massive.

Lets say you are not charging and battery volts are 12.8. Your meter is one volt out and showing 13.8 volts.

Although 13.8 is not ideal, it does show that you are charging, when in reality at 12.8 you are not.

As for cheap rubbish on fleabay. I purchased 2 air fittings for my D2's SLS for emergency inflation. These are the fitting that take a 4 mm plastic hose where you just push it in.

Set it all up and next morning D2 was on rear bump stops. The fittings leaked. Two new ones from Hydralink fixed the problem.
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."
