There's a big difference between sussing out how much movement there could be on price and making a lowball offer.
Problem is potential buyers often want to make a lowball offer and if you accept they then want to barter down further when they get to see the item being sold....
There's also a difference between phoning to discuss & just sending a text or email with a lowball offer.
