If you wanted a D1 truck, you could always go for the D1 ute conversion from the UK.

We swapped the chassis on my brothers 4 door RR Classic many years ago.

    Pretty big job,but no worries.

The vehicle had done a lot of beach work,by the previous owner, and the chassis was beyond repair.

Chrome won't let me go there.

Brad from KLR did this D1 ute conversion some years ago:

I have attached some pics from the Rotodama site. Forgot to mention that it is a Forward Control kit.
The original link is a few years old so not sure if this project got off the ground. I would love to own one!

    Some great ideas here..
    Thanks.
I checked on a fibreglass chev stingray body also..that was pretty doable actually..similar wheel base to within 50mm.
    Everything is possible.
Only scary thing is registration and insurance.

    A friend put a CJ7 or CJ8 body onto a D1 Chassis.
One thing to keep in mind and the biggest problem my friend came across is not only the wheel base has to be correct but the width and where the fire wall is located.

I have thought about putting a 48 international ute body onto a D1 chassis.
I have yet to research the engineering / VSB requirements. Nice thing about using a RR classic or D1 chassis is no crash air bags to worry about.

Yes, pretty much the Perentie drive train including the 4bd1-t, belongs to a friend.
