    Landy rental

    Hi guys

Hope I'm posting this is the right section.

I moved over to Spain from Melbourne a few years ago, sold my beloved '99 Defender, the last in a line I've owned over the years.

Every couple of years I fly back down to Melbourne to catch up with friends and family and more importantly head out to the high country with best mates for our traditional 'weekend before Q's birthday weekend camp'.

I've gotten used to riding shotgun each trip but this year I was hoping to bring back having a Landy in our tour. Was looking at these guys (http://www.mountaintopexperience.com...over-defender/) to rent one for the weekend but sadly it looks like they went out of business because of the pandemic.

Haven't been able to find an alternative so thought I'd ask if anyone was aware of a rental place in Vic ? Not fussed about year, spec or even wheelbase.

    Cheers

Interesting question. Selling mine and I will need a tow tug at times. High End which has RangeRover Sports! $700 per day or $500 per day for a week$$$$$$

Supercar, SUV, Luxury Car Hire Melbourne | Prestige Rentals

A few other all seem to be the la de da not 4wd type hire which seem to be a bit sad to me as I bet they would not like me towing

Are you sure Mountain Top Experience Defender hire us out of business? I know they sold the bus company arm of the business, but they've still been running 4wd driver training and trips. You want to ask Ron Carmier or Marcus Hiam.

    Mountain-Top Experience: 4WD club trips and training consultant: Ronald J Camier, ABN 39 251 892 687.
    Office: 45 McLean St, Morwell, 3840. Phone: 0429 121 952.
    Email: camier@mountaintopexperience.com
Training facility: 11 Depot Rd, Rawson, 3825

I'd like to help you out, but I've looked into it, and the insurance issues pevent a 'private hire'.

I think so, I sent off a few emails to all the email addresses of theirs I could find a few months ago, didn't receive replies from any (no boucebacks either), then eventually came across this page after clicking 'Book Now' for the Landy rental saying the business is closed except for 4x4 training courses: http://www.mountaintopexperience.com/contact-us/
I should probably just set the alarm and get up early to catch them on the phone to confirm once and for all.

Appreciate you looking into a private rental.

Rons advice is yes, Defender hire is still available, but only to those who appreciate them. Will leave it to you to convince him. Suggest contact via the mobile no posted earlier in this thread - I have reached him on that recently.
