    Mass upgrades.

Queensland leads the way for GVM, GCM and BTM upgrades.

If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Oh dear me! I got to 4:20 Ian , and some of my brain cells started to behave like the Lucas elecktrickery on Dad’s series 1.

So can you be a good boy and instead of spending your evenings correcting your logbooks, ....will you give me a summary and tell me , how many more slabs of bundy and coke and/or blonde hitchhikers I am allowed to carry?

There was more than enough confusion when it came to the basic GVM upgrades...

This is sure going to make it worse, and some no doubt will interpret the rules differently.

My thoughts are if the vehicle needs all this upgrading,it is the wrong vehicle for the job.

Small GVM upgrades are fine, thousands have been done over the years with no issues. They are also handy for those that tow and run on or around the vehicles stock original limit. It is also well documented that some vehicles are well over engineered,so a small increase is fine with few mods.

As many as you like, as long as they are called Sven or Björn. Leave the Lotties and Trudis for us old blokes.

Totally agree, but some folk just HAVE to have their LC300s.

What interested me was the bit about similar/identical vehicles. My OKA is rated at 5000, while nearly every other XT OKA is rated at 6000. 5000 may seem a bit, but I put it on the scales with full water, fuel and a few consumables and me, and it came up at 4995, which means any companion I meet had better have wings, or be a chihuahua. Or there's a diet in my future, and I'm 100kg and 185 so there's not much to work with. Bunging it up to 6000 leaves a bit of wriggle room for the blonde hitchhikers...

Some want a wagon, not a huge dual cab ute, that is difficult to park at Coles,or whatever.

At least the large wagons, whatever the brand, are capable of towing the big weights, its the smaller dual cab utes and smaller wagons that are a worry.

Except, have you seen how many ute conversions there are going on with LCs and Y62s? Might as well buy a F350 or a RAM and be done with it.

    IS THERE. A PROBLEM HERE?

Seems there's a real problem in ALL new 4x4s with gvm.....not just L300's

the current vehicles just cannot legally do what they claim they can.....unless theyre unloaded.

or theyr'e all just incapable without some modification or upgrade.

    why has this come about?

at the 4x4 show last week gvm upgrade was one of the most flouted topics on the stands.

Can't the manufacturers build a vehicle that doesn't require bulk modifications once it leaves the showroom?

There is one....Ineos Grenadier....they will warn you off even fitting larger tyres , they will tell you why.

That’s us to a T…..if I needed any more than the 10% I got than I’d be looking for a more suitable rig

Vehicle mods should be nationalised, similar to the NHVR. As it stands, Mr. Plod still has the authority to defect a vehicle, willy nilly of regs.
