Does anyone have experience with centrifugal water filters for domestic use?

I have 3 underground water tanks (all linked) that are fed from the rain water off of the house and a small shed. The tanks can also be filled from a channel. Water is not used for drinking but for all other water uses in a domestic setting - watering lawns, washing, toilets and showers etc.

Water from channel goes first through a 120micron (red disc filter) before entering tank and then goes through a 50 and 20 micron filter before entering house. These last two filters get cleaned / changed on a regular basis and alum is used semi regularly to try and settle things out.

I have been contemplating of either adding a sand filter (from a pool supply place) or possibly a centrifugal filter.

Would I be best to put the centrifugal in just before water entering the tank or be better to put it before the other 50micron filter?

I'm not too sure how well the centrifugal filter would work.

Thought with a sand filter I could have it as a seperate system and use my fire pump to run tank water through.

The main tank that has the channel water going into has a fair amount of sediment in it which is going to be a challenge to clean out - I have done it once before.
