Talking to the bloke whose boat this actually was, seems the engine only has about 40 hours on it..... Well, gotta take his word for that I guess.
Apparently the main issue is that when it was being trailered down from Weipa the wind tore the console off, with accompanying damage to the associated paraphernalia ( explains the hole in the engine cover ). So, apart from the wiring, I imagine it will be the steering and engine control cables needing TLC. Once I get this bloody yard sorted I can have a look. Sigh......
I too should really have a clean-up, but I do like having all the gear on hand to do any job day or night, the other day I noticed two screws had fallen out of the garage door opener where it attaches and one was half out with only one holding, couldn't find bigger self-tapers so I found some Loctite 263 IIRC and put the screws back with that, let it dry for about 30 mins before I had to go out (unfortunately not in a boat to keep this thread on topic) and they seem to be holding.
CAUTION.
Be very careful who assists you. My Son in L "helped" me but I am still trying to locate Tools & stuff.
Bad luck if they were in the Skip that went off.[bigsad]
Another skip event saw my RM Williams elastic sided riding Boots tossed out & all they needed was new Elastic sides fitted. I was informed that they were expensive but did not check myself. Boots are now worth $500-600 a pair, new. The reason they let me down was I came a face down gutser on some of Adelaide's footpath pavers from the olde days with a lifted edge. Could have been repaired for a lot less than that after all, I had them for apx. 35 years.
@^$#*^$@!*
Apologies to the OP,a bit off topic, for something different, but i am sure he won't mind[bigrolf]
About 12yrs ago,we were cleaning out the Wifes parents place, after the MIL decided to leave us,and the FIL(a great bloke) did as well a few months later.
Anyway,SWMBO picks up this plastic stool to put it in the van,to take it down to the charity place, with a lot of other stuff, and the lid comes off.
Inside there was thousands of $$ in notes,we presume it was her pokie money, she was down there often.[smilebigeye]
