    Short trip interstate

This afternoon will be boarding the ferry to get over to the mainland and driving up to crappy sydney.
Not looking forward to the arvo peakhour madness when I get to Campbelltown area as thats where it used to get pretty busy all the way up to
Richmond Rd where I'll be turning off.
Thursday I fly up to the GC where I havent been since the early 90's, so it should be interesting with all the highrise and madness that is the GC.
Plus there's that airshow happening there as well.
Luckily my brother suggested that we go to Byron early Friday morning so we dont go hassled by all the madness.(he's got a lovely beach house at Byron).
Saturday I'll be leaving Byron early to head back to slummy sydney in my nephews(soon to be mine when I change the rego on it) Freelander 2.
Its in mint condition and its only got 76000k's on it,so it will get a nice run down to Tassie.
I've got the last 7 service records so that accounted for but a question.
They did the cambelt on the last service, when should I look at replacing the water pump on it?
Will post some pics when I get up there.

    cheers

Assuming that the FL2 is at least 10 years old i'd be replacing the pump at the next service if not earlier.

Sounds like you've had two alerts now!
Although you haven't got the mileage on yours that I had when the HP pump gave trouble.

I only thought of fuel pump when I read "to change the pump". silly me....
Thought of the water pump when I was down the road doing a bit of shopping..
So what brand of water pump should I buy,I presume UK would be cheaper tho Karcraft
    have very reasonable prices.
Will ad that to the list of requirements when I put order in soon.

    cheers

    To loanrangie,
I rang GC LR as that was where the car had been serviced since being bought.
In November last year the water pump had a small leak, so they replaced water pump and belt so I'm all good for XX k's.
A question for you....what is the time frame for when the water pump starts to crap itself.....5 -7 - 8 years.

    Thanks for your concern.

    cheers
