Trevor was nights very early in the morning, I think. Good for insomniacs perhaps.

J.P. is running 1/2 marathon in Melb. If I am a bit quick I run in the traffic of the 1/2 people. That would be a good chat and I do talk when running slowly

How is the Cockie Pod??? I think it should be catchable when it is very hungry. IF you cannot find a Vet or other to help give me a call. I have taken a few 'rescues' to a local near here. Snake, Possum and a rat- Not a EU one (Snake -Dog bite, Possum Car and stuffed if i know what was wrong with the Hydromys chrysogaster)

ddin't see him today but the weather has been crap and they aren't around as much. He won't be fit to fly for long if he can't eat so I'll see if he comes back and I'll make an effort to trap him.

He showed up again today and I caught him (this did not seem to please him). Waiting for a callback from a local licensed wildlife rescuer otherwise i will take him to the vet on Monday, unfortunately none available over the weekend here.

A little reading on PBFD doesn't offer much hope for this guy, seems very likely the vet will euthanise him but it is certainly best to keep him away from the other birds in the area as the disease is very infectious and apparently can transfer to non-psittacine birds like kookaburras and wedgies. We've only seen one other cocky with this here that I can recall, hope it doesn't become commonplace.

That surprised me, the one we kept seeing had the top beak growing over the side of the lower beak.
Watch the fingers, probably can still bite hard.
Hope he/she gets a good prognosis.

He was grabbing my fingers and not able to really hurt until he worked his way down to the fingertip. Amazing how much that head can manoeuvre!

You're lucky he doesn't have the usual sharp beak, I looked after one for a mate and had to move it to a big cage in their garden everyday then back inside at night. When I 1st tried to grab him, he bit so I went down to the local hardware shop and bought some cloth gardening gloves, which he still bit but didn't feel as bad, when I took them off there were little red v-shaped marks all over my hands, after that I bought leather gloves!

I hope there is medication for his condition.

Even a Budgie can give a good bite,and create a nasty wound.
