The Australian Newspaper Article
Hello All,
Just wondering if anyone here subscribes to The Australian Newspaper Online? There is an article that appeared online that I am VERY interested in. Would it be possible for someone to copy and PM me the article? Or could you please let me know if the article was published in as a hardcopy newspaper. I then might be able to findi it at the local university (is this irony), or the council to see if they still have hardcopy versions available. I am not sure whether hardcopies are still available through libraries anymore!
Anyway, I digress... the article in question is detailed as follows ...

Article Title: University students will get more help to finish their degrees ....
Body of the article is as follows ....
Universities will be fined nearly $20,000 each time they fail to support a struggling student with tutoring or counselling, under government legislation introduced to federal parliament on Thursday ...
Hmmm...I wonder if it has made it into Hansard yet? Go directly to the source and all that ... I will check tomorrow ...
Kind regards
Lionel

Hello All,
I explored a number of options. Each one failed. This led me to revisit the Australian Newspaper site and investigating their subscription rates. It amounted to paying $4.00 to gain access to the article. I figured with the university library being 20 minutes drive one way, the time spent to drive there, the time spent to find the article and get it photocopied; then drive home, the $4.00 was the most convenient and economic option. Who knows - I might be able to claim it as a tax deduction?
I can see the rise in the need for a Student Wellbeing Officer to be appointed at some universities if the government can slug a university $20,000 for not helping an individual student who is struggling. This might be a prime time for someone I know whose PhD is in Wellbeing. Perhaps at last I might just be in the right place at the right bloody time. Normally, I follow Maxwell Smart's example.... accessed 9th September 2023 from, Get Smart: Missed it by that much - YouTube
Well, fingers crossed!
Kind regards
Lionel .... Dr. Lionel :0)
