Boats sunk or stuck or dramas

Down here in Mexico we have a bay - Western Port. It is at low tide a mud flat plus with a few channels at the top end!

Two types of fisherman is the saying. The Ones who have been Stuck and those who will be Taking our late Freind Mario out was honestly the closest I have been in the dark trying to get up to the loading point. I know how to navigate and read charts happily.

I have YET to be stuck

Every now and again my dad seemed to sink a boat! I think he scores three! The recently Pilot Boat in Port Phillip heads was a Kalanga for a few million wreaked. Just saw a 40 million $ boat on the mud in Singapore which made me chuckle. Calling dad to tell him he needs to keep up in term of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

    Enjoy and add yours

Yep, I saw that too. Strange place for a shoal, I thought. I have a couple of humourous memories about our 'Grunts' doing training on Gnooorganbin/Moreton Island in the '80s/'90s. I'll try and find the pics.

Clive probably was aboard, causing the . The displacement would have been far less without him.

It happened to the best of them! Years ago we did that while onboard the Irrawaddy River ferry! The team were standing in the river next to the boat trying to work it out.

We also bottomed out a few months ago on a cruise ship with 3500 people on board off the coast of Greenland. Fortunately it didn't get stuck, because no amount of pushing was going to budge that one! The boat listed a long way over and the dining crew spent a lot of time picking up plates and cultery!
    Cheers

Yes I was going to say something about the time you took Mario out in your boat. Many many years ago before I had the boys Mario and I took a friend out at Mordialloc. And when we came back in the dark they had a queen tide, it was so low, we forgot to put in down before we went under the bridge, we just made it under the bridge with it up. But there was a lot of boats trying to get there boats out. And some told us to watch out when getting the boat out because there seem to be quit a few syringes sticking out of the mud. I have so many memories of silly things that he did, but we made it though all of it. Heather

This was in my little boat Octopus are Cool. Three hearts for one fact other than they taste great!

Watching TV with Dad tonight. I reminded him of a rather large octopus I caught while diving. Dad was in the
. Coming back into the Moyne river driving our little tinny the octopus climbed out of the bucket and was attempting to escape the boat I was still in my wetsuit. I grabbed it. It's head in my hand the other hand driving the boat. Dad was laughing.
A tourist family with several young kids spotted this. One Screamed Mum- an octopus is eating that Man!
Too much for me. I stopped the boat and said the Man is going to Eat The Octopus Dad doesn't remember. He was laughing

In the other response I was talking about the aerial James. I was talking to Mario's mate that went fishing with him and he tells me that when they where coming back in to Warnett the tide was running out, and Mario was going in using his nav, and they where in the channel when the front hit some mud which threw Devin to the front. Mario told Devin rock the boat at the back while Mario put it in reverse, that didn't work. But there was a boat that was coming in fast, Mario told him to keep rocking it and when the wake got to the boat Mario revved it up in reverse, and the boat came away which threw Devin to the front again. I am glad that Devin has so many great memories of Mario, and what he got up to. Heather
