Well done Lionel,
you are exceptionally well qualified. The right organisation will see that.
Best wishes for the interviews.

Hello All,
I returned to work on Tuesday the 2nd of January 2024. It won the day for the most effort required to get myself motivated. It was like trying to start a car with a flat battery. The starter motor solenoid was clicking over. However, there was not enough juice to turn the engine over. The word 'rut' springs to mind. As I was familiar with the word rut before Christmas, I applied for two jobs. I think if you find yourself in a rut at work the best thing is to get yourself out of there. As it turns out the next day - Wednesday, I became that busy with a client's crisis case that the day flew. So too did Thursday, as I was doing research and extensive networking to find different strategies to enact.
Then on Friday I came home and there was one missed telephone call and an email. While I was opening the email the telephone rang. It was the manager from the other job that I had applied for telephoning to arrange an interview. After I got off the phone I found that the missed call and the email was from the other company I applied for a job with. They wanted to know if I would accept having a job interview on a specific date.
About four months ago I applied for three jobs. After one was advertised as full-time role, someone must have done a budget and realised they could not afford to pay full-time. Miraculously the job became a part-time role. Umm, no thank you. I applied for a full-time job - as it was advertised as being. Funny that! Another mob had a set of three of the same roles that were available in different locations. I applied for all the roles and I never heard back from them. In the last of the jobs that I applied I was culled before I made it to an interview. All of these applications were a direct match to my specialisation. As in title of my thesis matched the advertised job title. Overall, I was not left feeling very confident about my track record at the time. Feeling like you are stuck in a rut and not getting a single job interview does not inspire a rise in one's level of confidence.
Then since the events of last Friday, and another round of jobs applied for, it is really great to know that some people do recognise that my skillset and experience makes me an attractive candidate who could successfully work for their company. So not too bad a tally ... two jobs applied for and two job interviews.
Fingers crossed!
Kind regards
Lionel

Congrats Lionel. You’ve worked hard to “hone your craft” - it will all pay off in time.
Remember to be careful of that well known human trait - inner dialogue- often quite destructive if one begins to question themself.
“You’ve got this!”
