    Good news, James.

Don't want to trivialize your thread. I didn't even know welfare checks existed until one day, back in my alcohol fuelled days, I came home from visiting without my phone to find about twenty increasingly strident messages from my son. I rang to see what the fuss was about. Beside his relief that I wasn't dead somewhere, he was disgruntled that he would need to call VicPol back and cancel the "welfare check" he had requested. I thought it was funny at the time, but upon reflection I was suitably impressed.

He's not talking to me at the moment. Stubborn bugger.

Stay a good son, James. Well done.
