    Strange noise..solution

    If you are wondering what that strange noise was earlier on today, it was me out in the series 111 2.25 diesel. Got the old girl up to 55 mph with the overdrive engaged.
    Pretty exhilarating stuff, with the wind in my hair (whats left of it) with the doors, windows and flaps closed. Definately cannot call a series Land Rover stuffy

    Nope genuine post. She will move with the overdrive engaged but loses it on the hills. ROCKY MOUNTAIN overdrive unit.

    PO of mine achieved the same result by putting larger diameter tyres on it. Wouldn't go, with the added benefit of not stopping either...

    It is what Land Rover classified as the 2.3 as it has the five main bearing engine. 205x16 tyres
    There was a supplement for the five main bearing engine added to the workshop manual printed on green pages. The introduction to it is below.
