    Hi Mark
Trevor has had it for quite some time,he has tried to sell it on ebay and also where it is now.
Its had over $150 grand spent on it,the equipment list is HUGE.Just a few things I remember.3.9turbo isuzu,3 diff locks, mcnamara or similar axles all round, front and rear warn winches, total custom cab-all checker plate with expensive gauges, air bucket seats in the front, roll cage, gps, uhf and CB,sat ph??,rear motorbike carrier, alloy bog mats, roof tent,3 long range fuel tanks, water tank, heaps of big spotties, enourmous storage area and single beds.
4 adults could travel comfortably, all thats needed is a big mofo of a boat to tow behind it.

it looks like the civi version as not wide body.

may be it was bought by the army as a trial vehicle. the compliance plate should state "military 6x6" if ex-army.

perentie or not it is a lot of truck. probably reasonable value, good alternative to other campers on the market.

this is the genuine article allright, a genuine 6x6 defender. it's not a perentie. the only perenties around that i know of are the LRPV that was at the expo this year and the white dual cab that was at lastyears expo. all the rest have seen or are in service with the miltary.
the perentie has a wider chassis, wider cabin, higher roof as in the attached photo.civilian perentie.jpg

whereas this one i saw in gosford, although you can't see the width of the cabin, you can see the height compared to the prototype

That must have been where I've seen it Andy...

I'd love a toy like that... but not sure I have the time to use it

And besides... I am sure I'm not brave enough to try and get it past SWMBO at the moment....

I wonder how much it weighs? It has more bling hanging off it than a Phillipino Taxi .

I hate to be picky, but it certainly is not a Defender - the door handles alone give it away. It is a pre-Defender 110 6x6 as sold in Australia in the mid eighties. Drive train and rear suspension are the same as the Perentie 6x6, as is the 4BD1T engine, but apart from that (and a few other minor mods such as the extended chassis and four pinion front diff) it is a standard 110 cab/chassis.

    But definitely not a Defender.

NOW THAT'S WIERD, I ACCIDENTALLY TYPED THAT LAST MESSAGE IN CAPITALS AND SUBMITTED IT BEFORE I REALISED IT, BUT THE SYSTEM REDUCED IT FOR ME TO JUST CAPS AT THE START OF WORDS.
