Went out this morning in the series 111 with my breakfast, flask of tea and binoculars to a layby with picnic benches down the road at the coast. Took in the action while dining out. Came home with some drift wood. While down if I see large drift wood I pull it up from the tide mark and stack it and collect it when dried. Sometimes a high tide or storm will take it away or shift it but easy come easy go.
Sometimes I bring home dry seaweed and put it on the fire. You get the excitement of pops and bangs without the sparks! Burns very red but does not last very long.
Ah yes the simple things in life
A few weeks ago, we had dinner at a country hotel, when the waiter brought the meals, he said that some of the fish had been bumped off one of the plates (hardly even noticeable when compared to the other) and offered to refund the price of the meal, however we settled for two tiramisu deserts instead.
