Thread: Seat belt fixes ?

Something diFFeRant... Seat-belt getting slower to retract, - and staying inside the car...

S L O W retraction, especially driver's one. How have you fixed ? - apart from liquidating the Family Fortune & buying new/genuine ??

I'm leaning toward a thorough washing in situ, as is popularly described on YouTube...

Did it work for you ? Going to try it out this week-end weather-permitting, but welcome any input and advice.

This is for my D/D - Work Camry, and because the front are height-adjustable AND 'side specific, swapping them over isn't an option. Nor is using an eBay. "Universal" replacement. (Height adjust mech on OEM...)

Update:- AMAZING. how much hair, skin-dust and oils / human greases find their way inside the side-trim, - and deposits on belt-frame etc .. Still cleaning the grunge out of it, washing/scrubbing & drying the belt. A cheap, "Universal" eBay one installed in the interim.
- Verdict:- Worth doing a clean - out Before. they get sticky & slow... At least wash the extended part of the belt once or twice in a lifetime... Mine was 15 years owned by the proverbial Little Old Lady = plenty of hair !
