Red Plate Club is your answer. It’s pretty much zero fuss.
Okay, I love my disco 1 and I want this thing on club rego, but let's be honest I have just had my second child and I don't have time to do club stuff and go to meetings and participate much in that kind of thing. I'd like to, but I don't get time to sit down and play my guitar in my house let alone things like that.
I know that is not really what club rego is about, but how do I get this vehicle on club rego the easiest way possible? Are there different clubs that are better to facilitate this easily without too many strings attached?
Anyone know anything about these guys?
Victorian Red Plate Club Inc
Seems like a mob that is there purely for this reason only...anyone have any experience with this website before? Any suggestions?
Red Plate Club is your answer. It’s pretty much zero fuss.

Check with VicRoads you can form your own club so you can register your own car and run the club without fuss.
Gippy
Takes a long time to get approved, VicRoads aren't the easiest to deal with.
I read an article a while back about the high number of 'Single Entity Clubs'. If it's just you then Club meetings should be straightforward unless you have a split personality !
Not sure if I can still find the application form as it was some years back when I applied.

It took 3 or 4 months once the form had been returned.
Couldn't get any communication from them, eventually sent a letter to HO in Melbourne and got a Stat Dec form back. This has to be signed to say that if you find a member flouting the rules you'll report them.
Forms here :-
Just a moment...
You will need a 'constitution', you can typically download from another club & modify.
Create a Club letter head.
Nominate the President, Secretary, Treasurer & Vice President.
Consider 'Incorporation', this costs money but covers the Club in the event of an accident on an event.
Outline fees, members must be 'financial'.
Open a Club Bank account, you can wait until you get the Club signed off by VicRoads.
Most of the rest is covered on the webpage above.
Best of luck,

Like I said, RPC if you don’t want fuss, petty jealousies and little fiefdoms. I have been a member of the MG and FIAT car clubs in Victoria. Never again. Got a few mates with club plates, including 2 Okas. There are no Oka clubs. RPC takes care of it all.
of course, if doing all the stuff listed and dealing with committees floats your boat then go for it. But vicroads is not your friend.

You just need to put in a bit of work at the beginning.
If you 'run' the Club right there are no committees, no politics, nobody trying to take over. You just have to sign off vehicles and take and store a few photos. All you are signing for is to say that they meet the requirements of the permit system as a roadworthy is required anyway.
Easy to control if it's just mates, as soon as you let all & sundry in you could have problems. Every year your mates have to get you to sign their permits, VicRoads accept scans & photos. When you first put a vehicle on the system you have to physically go to Vicroads after that it's all online
It really isn't hard once VicRoads have authorised your Club.
Every year about now my son says, "Dad can you sign my Club Permit" and every year I say "No, you are not financial !".
I then get a message "I've transferred $10 to Mum" (she's the treasurer).
I then sign !

Red Plate Club - from a members perspective is fuss free as mentioned. They allow ANY vehicle that is 25years or older, no mandatory meetings or events. The secretary is easy to get along with. They are effecient, and do things properly - all above board.
