    Still here on occasions.....

    Someone called?

Still around, drop in every now and then for a peek.

Been away a lot travelling all over the place, and busy with other things.

No LRs in the stable, the S1 is looked after by one of my brothers,an LR tragic.....He is actually away with a couple of mates, they just did 1200Km to a property out west, shooting,in a couple of old Landies, one is a SWB Series 3,the other,LWB, i don't know what it is.

Oh,i must throw this in,the LC is going fine, four years old,no issues, nothing.Need to hug a big piece of wood, don't want to jinx it
Picked up a camper, glad i got the GVM upgrade, surprisingly heavy on the scales, both of them......

Good to see you're ok, Paul.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Interesting how often I hear this. Most people I know with LC's have fitted aftermarket springs to carry the "design load".
My old 130 Defender has carried a Trayon comfortably all over Aus. with std springs, inners removed.
80 109" 2.6 P ex Army GS, saved from the scrappie.
    95 300tdi 130 Single cab tray.

Sure you are not thinking of someone else?

Geedublya, got to get onto them and sort them.It is usually one keeper for every 300 to 350pics,so takes some time to do the culling.
Anyway, yes, need to get onto it,we have quite a few that need sorting.

No different to any other modern vehicle, including the Dual Cab utes.Except the air sprung vehicles, although they have the downfall of no GVM upgrades.
We put HALF the "design load" in the work Ranger and it was almost on the bump stops.had to get the springs sorted.
Did it to our 3 month old work Hilux recently, and it was fine, but at the "design load",it would need better springs.

Generally with the LC,the upgrade is to carry over the "designed load".
A mate runs his LC at "design load",just using helper bags, has done for over a decade, towing a 3.2t van all over the place,no real issues.

The 130 is also a dedicated commercial vehicle, where the LC200 is not.

Most people around here tow horse floats. The LC 75's seem ok with their leaf springs, but just about all LC wagons have aftermarket springs. You can see the ones that have because they run tail in the air when unloaded. One neighbor said "yes I had to because the A frame kept hitting the road".

My Toyota, 75 Series, '93 'tilly has a manufacturer's stipulated, tow ball weight maximum of 112kg!

In '96, the same vehicle was upgraded to 250kg, with no changes to the vehicle.

I've spoken to Qld DOT engineers (who were gob smacked by it), RACQ and others and apparently, the only way to upgrade the tow ball weight is to get Toyota to release a retrospective statement, officially increasing the factor. They don't appear to be interested!

    Back on topic.

I too, enjoy the bird photos, Scarry.
