OIL sump aftermarket advantage
This video sez it all, and my 'Conspiracy Brain' suggests the OEM engine maker is not overly worried about what we the end-users, would view as a teensy little flaw...

And I never knew about Engine Management throttling back power as OIL Temp climbs. - Wonder if the current crop of Chinese cars, - the ones with tiny displacement / lotsa claimed turbo-power engines, are monitoring this as extensively as they watch YOUR driving habits...

Kind of makes sense that an ECU would do that, so that is nice. What is less nice is that it is even needed
With 5g in all modern cars the amount of monitoring is going to be ridiculous. Make no mistake, I used to do some work for a certain german car maker and by that time it was already possible to see that you over revved your cold engine and thus you would not be eligible for warranty. I have never heard of it being actually implemented thus far but hey. Let alone what little data you need to upload just about any sensor back to the manufacturer?
You guys in oz. are just LUCKY that you have so much holes in the netwerk coverage at least outside of the urban area's
Cheers,
