Erring on the side of caution

We have had some snowy weather this last week or so. Usually I put up some photos but owing to Donald Trump's predilection for annexing things white I decided against doing so. One can't be too careful.

What a great time to be Canadian, or even Icelandic.

Trump doesn’t want Iceland as well does he! Now that’s a country I’ve fallen in love with!

I was in Greenland not long ago, sadly I think if Trump wanted it, he could probably just walk straight in without a shot being fired. It’s a big land mass, but the people live simple fishing village and small town lives.

Between Greenland, Canada and the Panama Canal, I think someone needs to reassure Trump that he doesn’t need to own the whole world to protect himself from the world.
    Cheers

Good thing you don't have a canal.

We don't have a canal up here but down the country there was a scheme some years ago (when still under British rule) to join two lakes with a canal. There was some good engineering work done but unfortunately part of the canal was on limestone. So when the canal was completed and flooded with water the canal disappeared through the limestone bed. Here is an article on it. If you scroll down through the photos you will see the dry canal. Here are one or two photos of the section with the limestone base taken from the article. Well worth a read if you have the time. I was in the area some years ago and had a walk along the dry section. Worth seeing.

I thought the trick when building canals was to line them with clay.

Trump has fallen for the Viking trick of naming the island they discovered to evoke images of a green and pleasant land to entice settlers, when its not really like that, although they did seem to settle it during a warm period but nearly starved to death when things cooled later IIRC.
