    Hi Rich
I tell you what I saw that 80 series spare setup cop a hammering on a couple of stages.
Good on you Gordon buy an expensive toy and push it hard.
I spoke to a few marshals they reckon you must be mad,Im sorry I just had to confirm it
BUT if they want to that sort of stuff and do it properly they need to buy the correct weapon.

Is this Westie code or wot?

If your talkin bout a D3 think about it less than 100k say a 10 year old 4x4 kitted up for comp work, you wouldn't get much change. Why not take a decent car?

Mad, no I don't think so

Why else buy it if your not going to enjoy it?

    I'd do it.

Gordon is not MAD he is just committed to his passion for driving over uneven ground, he did tell the salesperson he wanted a matt finish so he is using the scrub to achieve the look he is after..

I thought of Teasing another D3 owner by making up an accessory rumour for one he hasn't got, but it would'nt be fair hey jamo

    DD,

Thankyou for that sanguine defence of my mental state. However, no I'm not mad. LR told me the D3 was a true 4WD, and I took them at their word. A lot of others didn't - and still don't.

But I think I can say that I've backed up the statement RichardK and I made some time ago that the D3 is probably the most capable 4WD off the showroom floor. This is what I bought it for - otherwise I'd be driving a Jag or something.

Rich, yes lots of scratches and dents underneath, but that's mostly from Harvey (when the air suspension failed) and the mine visits, not the comps. The broken CV boot (on the right rear) is probably the most significant item - the fuel tank guard just "popped" back into shape, with a bit of tender coercing . The additional air compressor and exhaust protection plates I had made up certainly seemed to work!

Appears the Commitee are having some trouble working out the overall competition scores, as they have to weight the A and B class scores, but it seems we're in second place overall, behind Duncan's D class "suzuki" buggy.

Makes me feel warm and fuzzy when I recall how the Jeep mob claimed they would "whoop my ****"

    Cheers,

    Gordon

Having seen it in action, I agree entirely.
