Camping trip. First night set up tents then realized had not packed sleeping bags. Blanket and bin bags substitutes until could buy replacements. Once home donated them to one of the Ukraine aid groups
Starting a new job. Is a 4 hour drive to site. On the way stopped for a coffee and sudden realisation had left my passport and residence card at home. Could not start without these so returned home. Added 3 hours to the trip

Once in the army we didn't forget anything but were left off the list of force numbers when we were seconded to another unit, so the chef refused to feed us lunch. Luckily by dinner time our Sergeant realised there was plenty of food and the way they controlled portions was via the metal multi compartment meal trays, so he got the rest of the unit to get there early, then wash the trays and give them to us so we could eat in th later part of meal times. The chefs didn't keep an eye on the juice and coffee dispensers, so a lot of us made cups out of soft drink cans with the tops removed and wire handles.

More a case of forgetting to unpack.. Back in winter I was doing something under the car, as it got dark. Went in and washed my hands, and drove about 5 ks over some rough roads to the shops. Came back out and wondered what the hell the light was coming from under the car. Damn that 'Waukee light has strong magnets.
