My son Kristopher message me saying that he had booked a airbnb in Munich Germany. He was talking about doing a trip with his girl friend to Germany/ Europe, a good while back but I hadn't heard any thing, so I though it wasn't happening this year Anyway he tells me he is booking it bit by bit. Flight are booked and they are arranging where they are going to stay and where they want to go this October. Kristopher has a bit of a pull towards Germany as Mario was born in Germany and came to Australia when he was 4 years old. Kristopher had been to Germany before with the high school, and he can speak 60% German. I think he might go to where Mario was born. Mario wanted to go back there in his retirement, was interested go to a town called Recke over there. And I am going to New Zealand next year for 14 days just to get a break from everything that has happen over the years being a carer and after. Dont worry Kristopher will be looking after Mario's cat kitty, he will be staying here to look after everything for me.
I am going well at the moment, it helps when I do my 3 walks every day and losing 23kg. But I still have my days where I cry, I miss him so much. Bye for now Heather

New Zealand is wonderful Heather. So many beautiful places and really amazing places!

My fav was Queen Charlotte Sound from the outside in on Both HMAS Hobart and Vampire. I have the most amazing Picture of snow capped mountains as we came into the sound. It's not even a little bit as good as seeing it for yourself!

Photos can be great if taken by a professional Photographer with great camera and lens. I did take a pic with my pathetic little camera. I still chuckle at my grey grainy photo and the Navy Photograpers pictures I have in boxes I have just brought to my new digs. When I unpack I will share them.
I have been in a hospital all day with crazy stuff ups and fixes for my mum today. It was supposed to be taking her home. I will tomorrow succeed where stuff ups mucked up today

Thinking of NZ and Kristopher's Germany trip was very welcome thank you

Hi James this will be my 7th trip to New Zealand, in the 80's before I met Mario, my girl friend and I took 2 trips over there,and we did both islands. And when I met Mario in 86 after I came back from a trip I did by my self to Hawaii. And in 87 we got married in Nov we had our honeymoon there. And after I had the kids we took them for a month traveling both islands, and later on we took them twice which we did the south island. I am looking forward to it but it will be bitter sweet as it holds so many memories of Mario. I have a good camera that Mario bought to take photo's/ videos with . I just have to teach myself how to us it. I am going to Doubtful sound and saying over night on a boat. You can not drive to it you take a taxi boat from Te Au across to the other side takes 50 min and get on a coach which takes you across the mountain 2hrs to reach Doubtful Sound. Hope things goes well with your mum.

New Zealand is as you know a great place for a holiday. First time I went was with some friends all on our first overseas holiday after leaving home. Some where in my storage container I have a framed photo of the group in the snow. This was the first time any of us had seen this stuff up close and real rather than in the movies or on TV. We were excited enough to have stopped at the first place we came across snow and jumped out of the car to experience it. What makes the photo is the large road sign in the immediate background of the photo that says no stopping avalanche danger

My son Kristopher rang me wanting a copy of his birth certificate and a copy of Mario death certificate because he want to apply for a German passport.
So he can use it when traveling in Europe in Oct. So we see if he qualify.He does have an Australian passport. I can not see why he wouldn't get one as Mario was born over there and came out to Australia when he was 4 years old. He was naturalised along with his mum and dad some years later. And if he gets it Brendon want to get a German passport as well.

Be careful! Australia can only have ONE passport.

My sister travels on a UK passport, her husband has an Australian passport. The Australian passport gets a friendlier response and far less hassle throught Europe.

I recently did the same Heather to become a dual citizen with Australian and UK passports. Sadly Brexit devalued the benefit of a UK passport, but a German passport would make travel (and work) much easier within the EU.

Good to have dual citizenship (only Politicians in Australia can’t hold dual citizenship).

Sure does,Aus passport is the go.

I travel on a UK passport,it is a pain at times.I also need a current re entry permit or Visa,(i think it is called) to get back into Aus.
SWMBO has an Aus passport,everything goes smoothly,i often get pulled over no matter where we travel overseas,when going through customs.

Travelling through Africa a few years back,we went through many different countries,and it was always slow going for me going through customs.

I should probably get off my arse and become an Aus citizen,i just haven't bothered.
