    Only the good die young.

Twelve or so months ago I needed a suspension air bag for a 1988 MAN coach. There were no identification numbers on the old part, all l had was a brand and dimensions which I had taken. I tried the chassis manufacturer, the airbag manufacturer, multiple truck and bus parts specialists and air bag specialists. None could help identify and supply the critical part. Obviously they employed checkout operators.
In my search l came across a Perth based company who claimed to be able to supply rare, unusual and hard to find parts. With dwindling confidence I made an enquiry with them. The lady who I dealt with made no promises, but asked for a couple of days, by which time she would contact me regardless of her findings.
She did get back to me and the news was good. I obviously ordered the bag, adding some Toyota and Land Rover filters, by brand, to the order without asking for prices. The parts arrived with prices including freight, comparable to east coast prices. I'd found a replacement supplier to Roverlord.
Wanting to recommend the supplier to a member of this forum, I went to get the link for Parts Guru. They have closed . Hazarding a guess, I'd say they didn't have enough sales volume to remain viable . A crying shame, considering the level of service indicated they were making a genuine effort to succeed in the business.
Largely the reviews echoed my sentiments above, with the business owning their few mistakes and offering apologies and rectification. I hope Jamee and her colleagues find alternative employment quickly.

What I find so unfair is the likes of JRA and Stellantis treating their customers with disdain, yet surviving to repeat the poor service and survive while small businesses bust their gut to offer fantastic service and fair pricing failing.

Yeah, I know, it's dollars calling the shots.

Hi Ian I am glad you found a good supplier, it is becoming is a mine field out there. Just the other day I received a message from a guy who became a friend after he bought a few things from us. He wanted to catch up with me and see how things are going. He told me that he was fitting his last wiper set which is the last of his stock from us. He told me that he was looking for something else and tried different business with picture of the item that we sold him and I think number of it and no one could help him. He said it was so easy to ring us and we would do all the leg work for him for parts. Mario loved his business and always put customers and that also became friends first.
Have a good day Ian. Heather

I believe the whole community is still suffering since the very unfortunate passing Of Mario and the business closing.

both yourself Heather and Mario were an absolute god send and I for one highly appreciated both your asssitance in the short time I had dealings with you both chasing parts and service items and getting them to Darwin Toyota town at a reasonable price.

I have been O/S for three years with work and Chaffy ( my TD5 D2) has been up on blocks whilst I have been away.

on my return back to Oz it will be the process of getting old Chaffy back on the road. Whilst I did find some alternate companies for hard to find parts O/S ( and expensive to import) has any one found a viable alternative for quality and reasonably priced parts in Oz since Roverlord off road spares is now no more?

    cheers Chris

    I also use Karcraft.

I also sometimes get parts from,

    Land Rover Parts - Home
    In Melbourne.

    british4wd land rover parts hobart
    In Hobart.

Land Rover - Page 1 - KLR Automotive
    In Sydney.

I've been happy with all of them.

    Tony
